Our 4 bedroom villa to rent in Provence, with a large covered pool and extensive grounds, offers total privacy within its secluded grounds. A 5 minute walk to Flayosc with all its' shops and numerous restaurants means you do not have to venture further if you are in search of total relaxation.
The 4 bedroom villa with pool is so close to the village that you can fetch the fresh crusty bread from the superb "boulangerie artisanale", wander in for an apéritif before dinner at home, meander around the shops and the village lanes during the day or wander up an enjoy a gourmet meal on one of the many terraced restaurants.
The rental accommodation known as Le Mas Savoye, a former "bergerie" dates back 150 years and has been extended over time and is full of Provencal charm. It is spacious with large well proportioned bedrooms and living rooms. Equipped to a high standard and comfortable, Le Mas Savoye offers comfort both for outdoor and indoor living for up to ten people.
The villa is our home in Provence where we spend time "en famille et entre amis" - The flexibility for outdoor eating, relaxation and activities allows for individuals or smaller groups within a reasonably large group to enjoy some quiet time as well as sociable group time. It is the perfect retreat for extended families and larger groups of friends. The Mas is furnished comfortably with we hope, most needs anticipated for and little touches that give it a lived-in family feel.
Self-catering accommodation
The large shaded terrace is the focal point from where everyone gathers and from where three doors lead into three different reception rooms; the kitchen, the dining room and the sitting room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, four ring hob, dishwasher, two fridges/freezers, food mixer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, microwave. There is a round table seating four, plenty of food preparation space and access to cleaning products. The two outside doors of the kitchen lead onto the large east facing terrace which is ideal for most meals and the smaller west facing terrace which is cooler for breakfast in the height of the summer or perfect for dinner in the Spring and Autumn.
The dining room is furnished with a cherry wood table seating 10. Board games, puzzles are provided in the cherry wood cabinet. The main staircase leads off from the dining room to the two upper bedrooms.
The sitting room leads off the dining room and has access onto the main east terrace but also to the west and more garden chairs overlooking the pool, which is perfect for apéritifs. There are four sofas providing ample seating for up to 10 people and an open fireplace (firewood provided). Both the sitting room and dining room have terracotta floor tiles, exposed beams and are light and airy.
The master bedroom is in the oldest part of the house with double bed, built-in cupboard, antique pine washstand, view over the main terrace and towards the village. Shower room with walk-in Italian shower, loo, washbasin.
The second bedroom is set just below the master bedroom with two single beds, shower room with walk-in Italian shower, loo and washbasin. French windows lead onto south west facing terrace.
The downstairs bedroom leads off the dining room and is very large. There is one double bed (which can be separated to make two singles) plus two further single beds. French windows lead out onto a west facing terrace and the most shaded part of the garden overlooking the pool. Bathroom includes full size bath, bidet, shower, loo, washbasin. There is also an extra loo on this level.
The studio bedroom has its' own independent entrance with access from the garden. The studio bedroom overlooks the pool and has a double bed, shower room with shower, washbasin and loo.

Communication
A fixed line phone is available and may receive incoming calls both national and international and local calls only may be made from this line. Wi fi connection.
Garden
The established garden covers 3500m² and has an abundance of fruit, nut and olive trees. There are many little secret areas, a large diversity of flowers, shrubs and cactus and an ever present scent of thyme, rosemary and lavender. An old stone well (protected with a steel cover) and a large pigeon house only add to the charm of this beautiful garden. The garden extends out on different levels which could cause difficulty for people with reduced mobility, so please ask us first to decide whether the house and garden are suitable for your party. Three of the four bedrooms lead onto terraced areas ideal for relaxing quietly. The property, is enclosed by high hedging providing a very private location.
The substantial east terrace holds a large square red cedar table which seats eight adults comfortably on four matching benches. It is shaded by a centurian chestnut tree and an equally ancient lime tree. A gas barbecue is available for al fresco dining. The wonderful view from this terrace extends over the hills and the village of Flayosc.
The west terrace is considerably smaller and is an ideal location for breakfast as it is cooler first thing in the morning or for dinner in the Spring and Autumn. It is adorned with a medlar tree and a large ornate cactus. There is a large rotational parasol for extra shade.
There is wooden seating with cushions overlooking the pool (ideal for aperitifs), there are hammocks, childrens swing chairs from the tallest tree, a treehouse, swings, slides, sandpit, ping pong table, badminton.
The fruit and herbs from the garden are yours to pick and benefit from. Cherry harvest end of May!
Swimming pool
The swimming pool is set away from the house and is surrounded by nut, olive, fig, cherry trees and flower borders.
The pool is 12 x 5 metres and features a fibreglass and polycarbonate structure which enables swimming from April to October. This depends on the water temperature but the structure automatically raises the water temperature by 10° no matter what the outside temperature is. The structure is barrel shaped and divided into six elements, all of which can be opened and closed easily. The structure conforms to the 2004 legislation to enclose pools and keeps the water warmer, cleaner and when closed, safe for children to play unhindered in the garden. The maximum depth of the pool is 2m with a shallow end of just 80cm enabling the youngest members to benefit and gain confidence.
There is a pool house with a fridge/freezer for essential drinks and ice-creams, plastic table with chairs. There are pleny of sun loungers with mattresses, parasols and shady areas. There is badminton, ping pong and pool toys available to amuse everyone.
The village
Flayosc, a picturesque village in the Haute Var ideally positioned between the sea and the mountains enabling you to discover the two different aspects of Provence.
Flayosc is a lively village of about 4000 inhabitants offering all the amenities of a large village without needing to go farther afield including three bakers, butcher, bank, Post Office, chemist, three doctors, a dentist, three physiotherapists, two hairdressers, a lovely local pottery and a Monday morning fruit and vegetable market. There are many bars and excellent restaurants offering typical provençal dishes to gourmet cuisine. The area is surrounded with vineyards: a wine connoisseur's dream.
