Provence Family Villa With Pool In Flayosc

Discover Provence from this picturesque villa....

The Var is one of the largest parts of Provence and is ideally situated between La Côte d'Azur and Les Gorges du Verdon, enabling you to enjoy the two very different aspects of Provence.

Flayosc is a lively and pictoresque village offering all the amenities of a large village without going further afield. Situated between Draguignan with its' daily market and Salernes, famous for its' ceramics. The medieval church of St Laurent is worth a visit and there are many walks and bike paths to explore as well as many local vineyards to discover - a connaisseur's dream!

Lorgues has an excellent market on Tuesdays which is a must. There is a good tennis club here and several riding stables around the village. The Château de Berne is worth a visit to and is on the road from Flayosc to Lorgues.

Entrecasteaux is an ancient village with an 11th century castle which you can visit. The river Bresque runs through the village and you can fish locally. There are many artisans at work in the village but the vineyards and olive plantations remain the village's main occupation. If you can find the jiggly road off to the right from the main road that leads to Lorgues from Flayosc you will delight in the wonderful vineyards and olive groves as well as the beautiful approach to Entrecasteaux.

Cotignac is nestled at the end of a valley tucked in behind an enormous and famous rock (the descent down to the village is impressive) and there is a waterfall cascading down from the rock. The village is considered one of the most attractive in the Var and is well worth a visit.

Tourtour is known as the village in the sky - a long windy road up to the village is rewarded with the most spectacular views to the sea. A pretty village with an interesting church to visit, many restaurants and artists displaying their work.

L'Abbaye du Thoronet is a most beautiful 11th century abbey full of history and well worth a half day visit. Guided tours are available or you can wander around yourself following the printed guide. An excellent souvenir shop too with some very interesting history books for all ages.

Further afield

The famous beaches of La Côte d'Azur are from forty minutes drive, where you can visit Ste Maxime or St Tropez. L'Escalet which is just over an hour's drive is the most beautiful "presque-île" where you can walk along the cliffs for twenty minutes and spend the day on two deserted beaches, known only to locals.

The fabulous Gorges du Verdon are a fifty minute drive where canoes, kayaks and pedalos can be hired for the day with wonderful swimming possibilities.

There are many local provençal markets to choose from.

Sports and Activities

There is a tennis club in Flayosquet, just a three minute drive from Le Mas Savoye.

Golf, horseriding, canoeing are nearby.

There is an Aquapark at Ste Maxime, just minutes away.

Le Lac Ste Croix and Les Gorges du Verdon offer swimming, rock climbing and sailing.

There are numerous musical events during the summer with well known artists and lots of jazz. The tourist office and local newspaper have all the events. Many artists exhibit their work throughout the villages during the summer months.

Shopping

Apart from the village amenities, all main services are less than 10 minutes by car. Each day of the week, there are markets at one of the nearby towns or villages.

Food and Drink

Provence is known as "la cuisine du soleil". One bite and you'll know why....with its' emphasis on fresh ingredients from the countryside, olives, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, lots of garlic, fruit in abundance: melons, cherries, white peaches, apricots, figs, muscat grapes - all of which are turned into the dishes that have made this region famous: bouillabaisse, pissaladière, ratatouille, tapenade, fleurs de courgettes farcies; not forgetting the fragrant lavender, the thyme, basil, rosemary that give added to flavour to each dish.

A truly food lover's paradise.

A wine connaisseur's delight as the region is covered in vineyards!

Un petit mot

Whether you are looking for an action holiday or total relaxation, Le Mas Savoye can offer you both and anything in between. The garden can bewitch you so that you have to keep coming back. The house is so spacious, you can rattle around in it as well as being extremely functional. The situation of the property is virtually a stone's throw from the village yet secluded and the easy access further afield from Flayosc could not be easier.

Le Mas Savoye can be enjoyed all year round.
